Final Home Game of The Season Ends in Defeat

9 months ago By Dean Allchin

Eastbourne United AFC’s final home game of the season ended in a 4-2 defeat at the hands on Littlehampton Town

The game was just three minutes old when the visitors took the lead as the ball was delivered from the left wing to Jack Cole who fired an unstoppable volley past Phil Hawkins.
The lead was doubled with 15 minutes on the clock as George Gaskin headed home from close range.
United found their rhythm in the second half and Liam Baitup pulled one back for United with just over 20 minutes remaining, but the visitors thwarted any hopes of a late comeback with two goals in as many minutes through Ben Gray and Gaskin.
Shaun Lee (pictured earlier in the season aainst Haywards Heath Town) found the back of the net four minutes from time with his first goal of the season, but it proved to be an afternoon to forget that was compounded by Danny Andrews being shown a second yellow card in second half stoppage-time
