Former Swindon Town player Josue Antonio joins United

By Billy Wood

Mitcham born Antonio heads to the coast to continue the momentum as United continue the great escape!

We are pleased to announce the signing of Josue Antonio, 22 who joins United following stints at Farnborough, Merstham and most notably the Samsung Win a Pro Contract winner, joining Swindon Town FC in 2014.

"I am delighted to bring Josue in" Arron Hopkinson continued, "Having spoken to numerous contacts all have sung his praises, he is young, hungry and wants to get involved in our fight for survival with as many minutes on the pitch as possible. He is a good friend of Jalen's (Jones) and he has seen how his spell with us helped him recapture his consistency, which allowed him to progress further up the pyramid again, I am sure Josue is looking for the same. We will work with him and get him the game time he needs and I am sure he will find his ambitions met with the people here at this club."

Chairman Billy Wood added "We would like to officially welcome Josue to The Oval and expect great things from him. Jalen Jones who was tremendous for us has shown what coming to a club like us can do for your career and I believe Josue will feel the same effects of the surroundings too. We don't look to bring people in for them to move on but you know it's the nature of the game, therefore it's our job to maintain a level of ambition to attract top players and keep top players. Watching from the sidelines and kicking each ball with our fans it's great to see the fight and quality the lads are providing,I have no doubt Josue will fit into Arron's set up and show the same willing this team is now showing. Welcome Josue!"
