Hall of Fame entrant at 24!!

Yesterday we drew 1-1 away to Newhaven, a real result for us, even more so as we were leading until injury time! Newhaven have been invincible this season, and we were there and competing until the very end. In amongst it all was Alfie Headland.

Alfie achieved the remarkable yesterday, by entering the all time appearances Top25 - his 168th First team match eclipsing John Daubeney, and making him one of the youngest players ever to reach the top 25.
Alfie seems to have been around forever, and plays with maturity and poise. Insanely he is still only 23 years old. In his early days at the club he picked up the odd booking...he has been charged more than a Nokia 3210, but with it he has become an absolute Rock in the centre of defence, and indeed the centre of the team.
Who knows how far Alfie can climb up the all time list? Some of us thought that Reg Pope was unassailable to the top, but Alfie has every chance of making it to the very top of the appearances table.
We wish Alfie a very long and very successful career, he has certainly made a great start to it.
Next time you see him, round of applause!
Well done Alfie
