Clubhouse re-opens after great week on the pitch

It was a milestone reached for the club last week, as not only did every team; Men’s, u23, u18 & Women’s Recreational, win - but it was a phenomenal launch day for our new clubhouse.
The men have endured a tough start to the season, but go into Tuesdays away match to Newhaven with three wins on the spin. The under 23s also took all three points from the Polegrove with a 93rd minute winner against Bexhill United. While the first team were at Hassocks on Tuesday, progressing in the RUR cup, the under 18s were at Chichester for their FA Youth cup tie, again, they triumphed by 3-2. To complete the rout, the newly formed Women’s recreational team played their first ever game at Seaford against Heathfield and Horam and came out 2-0 winners.
Having already qualified in the FA Vase (thanks to last season’s results), there was no football on Saturday, which gave us the chance to showcase the brand new clubhouse. Over the last few weeks, under the direction of Ray Moore, the old bar has been gutted and completely refurbished, leaving it unrecognisable from what was there before. At last our trophies, pictures, medals and momentos are on the walls and on display for all to see. There is no longer a need for membership, the bar is open whenever there is football on at the Oval, pop in and take a look and enjoy a pint or two!
On pitch this week we have Newhaven away on Tuesday evening, 7.45, followed by Little Common away on Saturday. The under 23s match on Thursday has been postponed to later in the season. On Sunday morning, it’s 11am at the Saffrons as the under 18s take on Eastbourne Town in the league.
