Eastbourne United AFC have defeated Lancing 3-1 at The Oval in the Macron Store SCFL Division One

The fixture was the first league meeting between the two sides since the 2003/04 season when the sides competed in SCFL Division Two.
United included new signing Peter Cooper amongst the substitutes after his midweek transfer from Eastbourne Town as Manager Simon Rowland had the luxury of a nearly fully fit squad to choose from.
Joe Summerbell had an early sighter at goal as United showed attacking intent from the outset and found themselves ahead after just four minutes.
An in-swinging cross from Jason Taylor was met by the outstretched boot of Lucas Mann who beat his marker and guided the ball into the bottom corner of the net.
Taylor was proving to be an early menace for the visitors and saw a tempting cross cleared from danger before a United palyer could make contact, but he lead was soon doubled
Taylor again provided the assist as his in-swinging free kick was guided into he back of his own net by Lancing defender Liam Hendy headed under pressure from Bailo Camara.
Alex Fair saw an opportunity to pull Lancing back into the game go astray after thrashing over whilst unmarked at the far post following a corner.
Mann and Taylor both forced Lancing 'keeper Darren Ford into saves as Unted looked for goal number three.
But somewhat against the run of play, Fair got Lancing back into the game with an effort that was placed just out of the reach of Russ Tanner and snuck in at the far post
With five minutes of the half remaining, Camara struck a left footed drive to restore United's two goal cushion.
Lancing's task was made that little bit harder on the stroke of half time as Dan Turner was dismissed was a second bookable offence.
The second half saw Wade Eason come on to replace Taylor, but United made hard work of trying to break down their numerically disadvantaged opponents as chances came at a premium.
Ashley Jarvis had a glorious opportunity to get his fifth goal of the season, but could only direct his header straight into the arms of Ford.
The returning Cooper was brought on for the final 15 minutes in place of the impressive and ever improving Joe Summerbell.
Five minutes after his introduction, Cooper pulled wide and crossed for Eason, who wasn't quite able to hit the target with a scissor kick as United picked up three points to move into 9th place as the league campaign reached its halfway stage
