There were two changes to the side that defeated Pagham last time out, with Jamie Bunn missing out due to ankle injury picked up during that victory, while two goal hero Lucas Mann was also absent. Returning to the starting XI in their place was Crabb and Dean Stevens.
The opening half hour saw much of the play take place in the midfield third, with neither side fully pressuring the other defence.
United ‘keeper James Broadbent was the first of the ‘keepers to make a save in the fixture as he denied Marc Pelling from a corner while at the other end a quick United throw-in ended with Toby Clifford pulling an effort wide of the upright following a smart flick by Peter Cooper.
A United counter attack saw Crabb burst in from the right wing and drive the ball across the six yard box, but it evaded the onrushing United attackers and was cleared to safety by the visiting defence.
Broadbent had to be at full stretch to keep out an effort from Brad O’Connor at the start of the second half and a little over a minute later, Crabb gave United the lead as he curled an effort into the far corner from 20 yards out for his first goal since returning to The Oval in December.
The feet of Shoreham ‘keeper Ryan Burbridge denied Baitup from extending the lead as he latched onto Stevens’ through ball, but on 89 minutes United countered again as Crabb centred for Baitup who confidently took the ball round Burbridge and placed the ball into the empty net to seal victory
