United were hopeful of a positive result after Monday’s 0-0 draw at Eastbourne Town, but were put to the sword in West Sussex.
United found themselves behind inside the opening fifteen minutes as Kieran Hartley beat Callum Christie, before Jimmy Wild doubled the lead ten minutes later.
Two goals inside two minutes from Dan Hegarty and Wild effectively ended the contested before half time, but Lucas Mann gave United a glimmer of hope five minutes after the restart with a low finish.
Further chances fell to Liam Baitup and Liam Painter, but they were unable to find a way past Chichester ‘keeper David Hook.
Despite a spell of dominance, United conceded a fifth in the 70th minute as Dan Watts added his name to the scoresheet.
The punishment didn’t end there however, as further strikes from Hartley and Wild condemned United to their heaviest defeat of the season
