Wick 2 - 5 Eastbourne United AFC

Eastbourne United AFC have moved up to third place in SCFL Division Two after a 5-2 victory at Wick.
Wick, who lost their previous league fixture 6-0 at Midhurst & Easebourne, were the first side to inflict a league defeat on United this season back in September as United slumped to a 2-1 defeat.

Paul Daubeney made two changes from the side thay started the previous fixture against Saltdean United with Danny Simmonds, now fully recovered from a hamstring injury and Nick Barden coming in the starting line-up in place of Simon Catt, who is taking a break from football and Gianluca Del-Gaudio.
United started the game slowly and with ten minutes gone found themselves a goal down after a cross from left found Kieron Playle-Howard in space on the right to fire home comfortably and give Wick the lead.
Many could have been forgiven for thinking that the match would have gone the same as when the two sides last met, but United gradually got into game and pulled level when great cross field ball from Jamie Bunn was met first time by Jack Divall as he lobbed his effort over advancing 'keepers head with 20 minutes gone.
Four minutes later a Simmonds free kick following a foul on Bunn was turned in by Liam Baitup to put the visitors ahead.
Wick pulled themselves level on 37 minutes as a free kick was not dealt with and Michael Frangou fired home.
United played some good football throughout the match and retook the lead on 63 minutes as another inviting cross by Bunn was headed into corner of the net by Pete Cooper.
United game themselves some breathing space and increased their lead to 4-2 as Aaron Filsell crossed for Shaun Lee to bundle home the defenders 5th goal of the season, but Wick refused to go down withoit a fight and only a superb save by Adam Sargent with five minutes remaining denied Fragou doubling his tally.
The victory was sealed on the stroke of fill time when another Bunn cross was met with a thumping volley from 20 yards by the impressive Divall to give the recent signing his second of the match and send United back to The Oval with all three points.
