United came into the fixture after three weeks without a competitive match and made three changes to the starting line-up that lost at Storrington.
Pete Cooper returned from honeymoon and Grant Harrison was handed his first start in a United shirt while there was a starting berth for Calum Sherriff after missing nearly 4 months of the season due to work commitments.
The trio replaced Jack Divall, Gianluca Del Gaudio and the unavailable Shaun Lee.
Divall and Del-Gaudio were joined on the bench by Simon Catt, himself returning to the United squad after a 2 game suspension dating back to the start of December.
United produced the first chance of the match but Liam Baitup was unable to direct his far post header past visiting ‘keeper Kieran Elliott, but despite the early chance, it was the visitors who controlled the early part of the match and went ahead after 17 minutes when a United corner was cleared was cleared to Jake Holmes, who proceeded to sprint down the right wing before crossing to Damon Aston who stole in between the defence to power a header home past Adam Sargent.
Heath could have doubled their advantages moments later as Jamal Sultan who powered into the penalty area, but saw his shot well saved by Sargent.
United soon found their rhythm and drew level after a Jamie Bunn cross found the evergreen Danny Simmonds at the far post with a diving header to score his first ever goal for the club.
Five minutes later United were in front after a low cross from Nick Barden was fumbled by the Heath ‘keeper and after Simmonds returned the ball to the near post, Pete Cooper was presented with the easiest of chances to score from a yard out.
United, now in the ascendency, hit a third goal on the stroke of half-time as Baitup was left unmarked at the far post to stoop home for his 25th goal of the season in all competitions
Cooper almost added a fourth at the start of the second half, but his acrobatic overhead kick was met by a fantastic reaction save by Elliott.
United did get their fourth goal moments later another right wing cross from Bunn evaded everybody apart from Baitup at the far post who bundled the ball over the line from close range. Jack Divall was introduced to the action with thirty minutes to play and it took him just two minutes to join the scorers after capitalizing on a misplaced header by Dan Attwater to head home from close range.
Divall made it 6-1 three minutes later when he intercepted a cross-field pass and ran through to unleash a powerful left footed drive across Elliott as United warmed up for the visit of Ryman Premier League side Bognor Regis Town on Tuesday night in style.
The two sides will meet at The Oval again on Tuesday 5th February in the Quarter Final of the RUR Cup, with a semi-final tie against Crowborough Athletic or Newhaven awaiting the winner
