Robinson helped himself to five goals, including a first-half hat-trick as United turned arguably their poorest performance under the reign of Paul Daubeney.
After an encouraging midweek victory at nearby Seaford Town, United knew a win would close the gap on Newhaven in second place and ensure an exciting end to the season.

a long ball was flicked in Robinsons path by Probert and despite being forced wide, Robinson struck a venomous effort into the far corner that went in between the near post and goalkeeper Lee Daubeney when the United ‘keeper should maybe have done better.
Newhaven doubled their lead on 38 minutes, when Robinson was gifted the ball in the United area. Freddie Beale had a shot blocked but an attempted clearance from Calum Sherriff could only go as far as Robinson who fired across Daubeney and in to the corner.
On the stroke of half-time, Robinson completed his hat-trick and overtook United’s Liam Baitup as the leading scorer in SCFL Division Two.

United could feel aggrieved to see themselves go into the break 3-0 down, but could only have themselves to blame after gifting Newhaven all three of their goals.
In an effort to pull themselves back into the game, Paul Daubeney brought on Nick Barden at half time and changed to a 3-5-2 formation, but after just five minutes of the half, Daubeney was forced to withdraw Pete Cooper with the 13-goal striker suffering a muscle injury.
The home side showed no mercy on the United defence and Daubeney had to be at his very best to save from Jallow before Grant Harrison cleared a Probert off his own goaline.
Just before the hour mark, Newhaven did strike an unstoppable fourth.
A Robinson corner could only be cleared to the edge of the area and the ball fell straight to Jason Goddard who struck an inch perfect volley to beat a despairing Daubeney.
A fifth Newhaven goal followed ten minutes later after a Daubeney goal kick was headed to Probert who ran straight through a gaping hole in the heart of the United defence and prodded an effort towards goal that was kept out by Daubeney but the rebound could only go as far as Robinson who slotted the ball in to an empty net for his fourth of the afternoon.
Five became six on 80 minutes when substitute Harry Millar was found in the six yard box by Robinson and Millar had the simple task of tapping the ball in at the far post.
The scoring was completed two minutes from time as Robinson got his fifth of the match after a ball over the top of the United defence wasn’t dealt with by Daubeney and left Robinson to walk the ball home into an unguarded net.
