After four consecutive postponements over the Christmas and New Year period, United were playing there first consecutive match in just under a month.
New signing Joe Dryer made his debut, while there was also the return of Sean Ray and Adam Kneller in central defence.
United had more of the play in the opening period of the game, with Matt Maclean inches away from opening the scoring after being played in by Ryan McBride.
Loxwood immediately responded and it required a perfectly timed tackle from Joe White to prevent Shaun Findlay from testing Mateusz Szafrankski in the United goal.
A minute later, United attacked again as Greenfield and Featherstone combined on the right with the latter drilling an inviting ball across the six yard box that was just to far ahead of an outstretched McBride.
With two minutes of the half remaining, United took the lead.
Dryer cut in from the left wing and produced an inviting ball across the area to Maclean who was left with a simple tap in at the far post.
The second half was just three minutes old when Loxwood pulled level.
Dean Wright found space behind the United defence and confidently rounded Szafrankski before placing the ball in to bottom corner despite the best efforts of Sean Ray attempting to clear the ball.
Neither 'keeper was fully tested during the remainder of the half as United dropped their first league points of the season.
United remain level at the top of SCFL Division with Loxwood on 42 points from, but they can pull clear if they draw or are victorious over Seaford Town on Tuesday evening (19:30)
